As a kid, I was obsessed with skateboarding. This isn't an ideal obsession to have when you and most of your family live on dirt roads. I would take my skateboard everywhere I went in hopes of finding a slab of concrete. Even though I could never find a skatepark near my rural town in North Carolina (go figure), I have always loved skateboarding.

I teamed up with a North Carolinian artist to create my version of skating in rural tribal lands. I am a member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina. My ancestors long before me lived in wooden log houses, called Long Houses. This is my take on merging my two worlds :)
